Used 06-08 Daytona 675 Parts

Sun Coast Cycle Sports carries inspected used parts for the 2006-2008 Triumph Daytona 675, the first generation of Triumph's groundbreaking inline-triple supersport. The 675cc DOHC liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine redefined the middleweight sportbike class, offering a torque-rich alternative to Japanese inline-four 600s. Our Florida technicians break down each donor Daytona, photograph every component under a unique SKU, and ship free within the continental United States.

06-08 Daytona 675 generation and parts compatibility

The 2006-2008 Daytona 675 represents the first generation of the triple-powered supersport platform.

Parts interchange is excellent within 2006-2008. There were no significant mechanical changes across these three model years; updates were limited to color options, decals, and a 2008 Special Edition with gold wheels and black engine covers. All engine internals, bodywork, suspension components, and electronics interchange freely within this generation.

The 2006-2008 Daytona 675 shares its engine with the 2007-2012 Street Triple. The Street Triple uses a detuned version of the same 675cc triple (106 hp vs 123 hp), with different cams, ECU map, and exhaust. Engine internals (crank, pistons, cylinders, gearbox, clutch) interchange between the Daytona and Street Triple. The frame and swingarm are also shared, though the Street Triple uses a conventional swingarm vs the Daytona's single-sided unit.

The 2009 Daytona 675 update brought over 50 changes including revised ECU mapping, taller first gear, improved high/low speed damping, and updated bodywork. While many components carry over from 2006-2008, the bodywork (upper fairing, headlight assembly) changed for 2009 and does NOT fit 2006-2008 models. Engine internals from 2009-2012 generally interchange with 2006-2008, but the ECU is different.

Common 06-08 Daytona 675 failure points and replacement parts

Regulator/rectifier overheating: The stock R/R on 2006-2008 models is mounted in a position with limited airflow and can overheat, leading to overcharging (boiled battery) or undercharging. Relocating the R/R to a position with better airflow or replacing it with an aftermarket MOSFET unit is a common fix.

Quickshifter compatibility (aftermarket only): Triumph did not offer a factory plug-and-play quickshifter for the 2006-2008 generation. Aftermarket quickshifters designed for the 2009+ model can damage the gearbox if installed on 2006-2008 bikes without the correct ECU mapping. Verify quickshifter compatibility before installation.

Exhaust valve (EXUP) servo failure: The exhaust valve servo motor that controls the EXUP butterfly in the exhaust can fail, causing a check engine light and rough running. Servo replacement or an EXUP eliminator kit resolves the issue.

Cracked exhaust header pipes: Some owners report hairline cracks developing in the stainless steel header pipes, particularly at weld joints. Cracked headers produce an exhaust leak that is audible as a ticking at idle.

Chain and sprocket wear: The Daytona's performance-oriented riding style accelerates chain wear. Regular adjustment, lubrication, and replacement at 15,000-20,000 mile intervals are important maintenance items.

Commonly replaced 06-08 Daytona 675 parts

  • Regulator/rectifier
  • Fairing panels (crash damage is common on sportbikes)
  • Exhaust valve (EXUP) servo motor
  • Header pipes and exhaust system
  • Chain and sprocket kit
  • Brake pads (Nissin radial calipers)
  • Fork seals and fork oil
  • Clutch plates and springs

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will 2009-2012 Daytona 675 fairings fit my 2006-2008 model?

No. The 2009 update changed the upper fairing, headlight assembly, and air scoops. The 2006-2008 bodywork is specific to this generation and does not interchange with 2009-2012 panels. Lower fairing sections may be more compatible, but verify by part number. The 2013+ Daytona 675 is a completely different chassis and shares no bodywork with any earlier generation.

Q: Can I use Street Triple engine parts in my Daytona 675?

Yes. The 2007-2012 Street Triple shares the same 675cc triple engine architecture. Crankshaft, pistons, cylinders, gearbox internals, clutch, and oil pump interchange directly. The Street Triple uses different cams and ECU calibration for its lower power output, but the hard parts are identical. The Street Triple's conventional (double-sided) swingarm does NOT fit the Daytona's single-sided swingarm mounting.

Q: Is the Daytona 675 related to the earlier Daytona 600 or 650?

No. The Daytona 600 (2003-2004) and 650 (2005) used a 599cc/646cc inline four-cylinder engine in a completely different chassis. The Daytona 675 is a ground-up new design with a three-cylinder engine. No parts from the four-cylinder Daytonas fit the 675 triple.
