Sun Coast Cycle Sports stocks used OEM parts for the Kawasaki KFX700 (KSV700), the V-twin sport ATV produced from 2004 through 2009. The KFX700 borrows its 697cc liquid-cooled SOHC V-twin engine and shaft-drive rear end from the Prairie/Brute Force utility platform, repackaged in a sport-oriented chassis with dual A-arm front suspension, a CVT automatic transmission, and aggressive styling. Positioned as a sport-utility crossover, the KFX700 excels on wide-open trails and sand dunes. Each part is individually inspected, photographed, and ships from our Odessa, Florida facility.

KFX700 generation and parts compatibility

The KFX700 was produced as a single generation from 2004 through 2009 with minimal mechanical changes during the production run. Annual updates were limited to color options and graphics. The 697cc V-twin engine, CVT transmission, shaft drive, and chassis architecture remained consistent across all model years. All KFX700 parts interchange freely across the full 2004-2009 range.

The KFX700's engine is borrowed from the Prairie 700/Brute Force lineup, with modifications for sport use including revised intake and exhaust tuning for improved throttle response. The dual Keihin 32mm carburetors, SOHC V-twin architecture, and shaft drive rear end are shared with the utility platform. Some engine internals and drivetrain components may cross over between the KFX700 and Prairie 700/Brute Force 650, though external components (chassis, plastics, exhaust) are KFX700-specific.

The KFX700 does not share its engine or chassis with the KFX400 (Suzuki-derived 398cc single) or the KFX450R (Kawasaki-designed 449cc single). Each KFX model uses a completely different engine platform.

Common KFX700 failure points and replacement parts

Tie rod weakness: Stock tie rods on the KFX700 are known to be soft and bend easily under aggressive riding or impact with obstacles. Tie rod assemblies and ball joints are among the most commonly replaced chassis components.

CVT belt wear: The CVT drive belt requires periodic replacement based on riding intensity. Sand dune and mud riding accelerate belt wear significantly compared to dry trail use. CVT belts are a top-tier consumable item.

Plastic bodywork brittleness: The KFX700's plastics become brittle in cold temperatures and crack easily during tip-overs or contact with trail obstacles. Fender panels and bodywork replacements are high-volume parts requests.

Shaft drive seals: Inherited from the utility platform, the rear shaft drive develops seal leaks on higher-mileage machines. Final drive seal kits are periodic maintenance items.

Front A-arm bearing wear: The front A-arm bearings that bolt to the frame are not the strongest, particularly on machines with lift kits or oversized tires. A-arm bearing kits are common replacement items for trail-ridden machines.
