Sun Coast Cycle Sports carries inspected used parts for the Honda TRX350 family, covering two distinct platforms: the original TRX350 FourTrax Foreman (1986-1989) and the TRX350 Rancher (2000-2006). The Foreman 350 was Honda's first 4x4 ATV, using a 329cc air-cooled single with a five-speed transmission and selectable 2WD/4WD with shaft drive. The Rancher 350 is a separate, later design using a 329cc air-cooled OHV single with automatic clutch, available in 2WD or 4WD configurations with optional Honda Electric Shift Program (ESP). Each TRX350 part we stock is inspected by our powersports team, documented with photos, and ships from Odessa, Florida.
TRX350 generation and parts compatibility
| Model | Years | Engine | Key features |
| TRX350 FourTrax Foreman 4x4 | 1986-1989 | 329cc air-cooled single | Full-time 4WD, 5-speed manual, shaft drive, first Honda 4x4 ATV |
| TRX350D FourTrax Foreman 4x4 | 1987-1989 | 329cc air-cooled single | Same as above with front differential lock |
| TRX350 Rancher 2WD (TRX350TM/TE) | 2000-2006 | 329cc air-cooled OHV single | 2WD, auto clutch, manual or ESP shift, shaft drive |
| TRX350 Rancher 4x4 (TRX350FM/FE) | 2000-2006 | 329cc air-cooled OHV single | Selectable 2WD/4WD (TraxLok), auto clutch, manual or ESP shift |
The 1986-1989 Foreman 350 and the 2000-2006 Rancher 350 are completely different platforms despite sharing a 329cc displacement. The Foreman uses a manual clutch with a conventional five-speed gearbox, while the Rancher uses an automatic centrifugal clutch. Engines, frames, suspension, and bodywork do not interchange between the Foreman and Rancher generations.
Within the Rancher 350 line (2000-2006), the 2WD and 4WD models share the same engine block. The 4WD models add a front differential, front driveshaft, and the TraxLok selectable 2WD/4WD system. Engine internals, rear axle components, bodywork, and most electrical parts cross over between 2WD and 4WD Rancher 350s. The TM (foot-shift) and TE (ESP) models differ only in the shift mechanism. The Rancher 350 was replaced by the TRX400 Rancher AT in 2004 and eventually by the TRX420 Rancher in 2007, both of which are different platforms.
Common TRX350 failure points and replacement parts
Shift angle sensor (ESP models, Rancher): The Electric Shift Program's angle sensor can fail, causing erratic shifting or refusal to change gears. This is the most commonly reported electronic issue on ESP-equipped Rancher 350s.
Carburetor issues: Both the Foreman and Rancher use carbureted engines prone to fouling from stored fuel. The Rancher's 32mm Keihin carburetor is especially sensitive to ethanol-blended fuel sitting over winter.
Front differential wear (4x4 models): The 4WD models' front differential can develop wear in the gears and bearings after heavy use, particularly in muddy or loaded conditions. Unusual noises from the front end under 4WD engagement indicate differential inspection is needed.
Axle and CV boot wear: The 4x4 Rancher's front CV joints are protected by rubber boots that crack with age and exposure, allowing dirt and water to destroy the CV joint. Regular boot inspection prevents expensive axle replacement.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Are the TRX350 Foreman (1986-1989) and TRX350 Rancher (2000-2006) the same ATV
No. These are completely separate platforms with different engines, frames, drivetrains, and bodywork. The Foreman 350 has a manual clutch and five-speed transmission; the Rancher 350 has an automatic clutch. No parts interchange between them.
Q: Will TRX350 Rancher 2WD parts fit the 4x4 model
Engine, rear axle, bodywork, seat, racks, and most electrical components are shared. The 4x4 model adds the front differential, front driveshaft, and TraxLok system, which are specific to the 4WD configuration. Rear suspension and frame components interchange across both drivetrain types.
