Used GTR Parts

Browse used OEM parts for the Sea-Doo GTR at Sun Coast Cycle Sports. The GTR is Sea-Doo's value-oriented performance watercraft, putting a supercharged Rotax engine into a lighter, more nimble hull derived from the GTI platform. Introduced in 2012 as the GTR 215, the model has evolved through 230 hp and 300 hp variants, delivering serious acceleration at a more accessible price point than the RXT or RXP. The GTR is frequently described as "a GTI with a big engine," making it one of the most exciting entry points into supercharged personal watercraft performance. All parts are inspected, individually cataloged, and ship from our Florida facility.

The GTR shares its Rotax engine with other Sea-Doo models of the same displacement and power specification. Engine internals, supercharger, and jet pump components interchange within the same Rotax engine family across GTR, GTX, RXT, and RXP models. The GTR's hull is derived from the GTI platform (smaller and lighter than the GTX/RXT ST3 hull), so body panels and hull components are GTR/GTI-specific and do not fit the larger touring models.

The GTR-X 300 introduced for 2024 uses Polytec hull construction (similar technology to the Spark) for weight savings, paired with the 300 hp supercharged Rotax 1630. This represents a different hull construction method from the fiberglass GTR 215/230 models.

Common Sea-Doo GTR failure points and replacement parts

Supercharger maintenance: All supercharged GTR models require periodic supercharger inspection and rebuild at 100-200 hour intervals. The intercooler should be inspected for corrosion at the same time, particularly on saltwater-used craft.

Carbon seal and wear ring: Standard jet pump wear items that require periodic replacement. A degraded wear ring reduces acceleration performance before outright failure occurs, so monitoring acceleration characteristics helps identify when replacement is due.

Hull maintenance (composite models): The GTR 215/230 fiberglass hulls can develop gelcoat chips and cracks from dock impacts and trailering. The GTR-X 300's Polytec hull is more impact-resistant but cannot be repaired with standard fiberglass techniques.

Corrosion (saltwater): Thorough post-ride flushing is essential for saltwater-used GTR models. The supercharger intercooler and exhaust system are particularly susceptible to salt corrosion damage.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Does the GTR share engine parts with the GTX or RXT

Yes. The GTR uses the same Rotax engine family as the GTX, RXT, and RXP. Engine internals interchange between models of the same displacement and power configuration. The GTR's hull is different (smaller, lighter, derived from the GTI platform) and does not fit other Sea-Doo model lines.

Q: What makes the GTR different from the RXT

The GTR uses a smaller, lighter hull derived from the GTI, while the RXT uses the larger ST3 hull platform designed for offshore stability. The GTR is more nimble and playful, while the RXT provides better rough-water handling and more storage. Both can share the same engine specification but deliver different riding experiences due to the hull differences.

Q: Is the GTR a good entry into performance watercraft

The GTR is widely considered the best value proposition in Sea-Doo's supercharged lineup. It delivers the same engine performance as more expensive models in a lighter, more agile package. The trade-off is less storage, a smaller hull with less offshore stability, and fewer luxury features compared to the GTX or RXT.
