Used 13-16 Kawasaki Z800 Parts

Used OEM parts for the 2013-2016 Kawasaki Z800 are available at Sun Coast Cycle Sports. The Z800 is Kawasaki's middleweight naked streetfighter, replacing the Z750 and producing 113 horsepower from an 806cc inline-four engine. Part of Kawasaki's "sugomi"-inspired Z series, the Z800 combines aggressive styling with versatile street performance before being succeeded by the Z900 for 2017. All Z800 parts we carry are verified against donor machines, individually photographed, and shipped from our Florida warehouse.

Z800 generation and parts compatibility

The Z800 was produced as a single generation from 2013 through 2016. The 806cc liquid-cooled DOHC inline-four engine, tubular steel trellis backbone frame, 41mm inverted forks, and Uni-Trak rear linkage remained consistent throughout the four-year production run. All Z800 parts interchange freely across 2013-2016 model years, with only color and graphic options changing annually. An "e version" with reduced power output was available in European markets for A2 license compliance but was not sold in the US.

The Z800 replaced the Z750 (2007-2012) and shares the same general concept but uses a larger-displacement engine (806cc vs. 748cc) with a different bore and stroke. Engine internals do not interchange between the Z750 and Z800. The Z800 was in turn replaced by the Z900 (2017+), which uses a completely new 948cc engine and trellis frame. No parts cross over between the Z800 and Z900 despite the similar styling language.

Common Z800 failure points and replacement parts

Overall reliability: The Z800's inline-four engine is a solid, well-proven powerplant with no widely documented systematic failures. The bike earned a reputation for being a reliable daily rider and commuter. Most parts demand comes from crash damage and routine maintenance.

Crash damage: As a popular naked streetfighter with no fairing protection, the Z800 is vulnerable to cosmetic damage from minor tip-overs. Engine covers, bar ends, mirrors, levers, and turn signals bear the brunt of low-speed drops. Tank dents are also common since the exposed fuel tank has no fairing protection.

Chain and sprocket wear: The Z800's final gearing is set relatively short for aggressive street performance, which accelerates chain and sprocket wear compared to longer-geared touring machines. Replacement every 12,000-18,000 miles is typical depending on maintenance habits.

Fork seal leaks: The inverted 41mm forks on the Z800 can develop seal leaks, particularly on machines ridden on rough urban roads or exposed to debris. Fork seal kits and fork oil are routine maintenance items.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Are all 2013-2016 Z800 parts interchangeable?

Yes. The Z800 received no mechanical changes during its four-year production run. Engine, frame, suspension, brakes, and all chassis components are identical across 2013-2016. Only paint and graphics differ between model years.

Q: Will Z750 or Z900 parts fit a Z800?

No. The Z750 (2007-2012), Z800 (2013-2016), and Z900 (2017+) each use different engines and frames. Despite sharing the Z-series naked streetfighter concept and similar styling, these are three distinct platforms with no meaningful parts compatibility between them.

Q: Does the Z800 share parts with any faired Kawasaki model?

The Z800's 806cc engine is unique to this model and is not shared with any faired Kawasaki sportbike. The Ninja 650 uses a different 649cc parallel twin, and the ZX-6R uses a 636cc inline-four. The Z800 is a standalone platform in Kawasaki's lineup.
