The RZR XP 900 (2011-2014) was the first RZR to use the ProStar 900 engine and 3-link trailing arm rear suspension. When the RZR XP 1000 launched in 2014, the 900 engine was repositioned into narrower 50" and 60" chassis configurations as the RZR 900 and S 900, with slightly detuned power (75 hp vs 88 hp). Engine internals are shared across all 900 models regardless of year and width, though ECU calibration differs between XP and non-XP versions.
The RZR 900's 3-link trailing arm rear suspension does NOT interchange with the RZR 800's dual A-arm rear suspension. This is the most important compatibility distinction in the RZR lineup.
