Used RZR 900 Parts

Used parts for the 2011-present Polaris RZR 900 are available at Sun Coast Cycle Sports. The RZR 900 marked a major evolution of the RZR platform, debuting the ProStar 900 engine and the revolutionary 3-link trailing arm rear suspension that became standard across all performance RZR models. Originally launched as the RZR XP 900, the 900 line has expanded to include multiple width and seating configurations. Our Odessa, Florida technicians strip each RZR 900 donor, photograph every part under a unique SKU, and list it with free shipping throughout the lower 48.

The RZR XP 900 (2011-2014) was the first RZR to use the ProStar 900 engine and 3-link trailing arm rear suspension. When the RZR XP 1000 launched in 2014, the 900 engine was repositioned into narrower 50" and 60" chassis configurations as the RZR 900 and S 900, with slightly detuned power (75 hp vs 88 hp). Engine internals are shared across all 900 models regardless of year and width, though ECU calibration differs between XP and non-XP versions.

The RZR 900's 3-link trailing arm rear suspension does NOT interchange with the RZR 800's dual A-arm rear suspension. This is the most important compatibility distinction in the RZR lineup. Front suspension A-arms and components also differ between models due to different widths and travel specifications.

Body panels, doors, and cage components are width-specific (50", 60", or 64") and do NOT interchange across different widths. Within the same width and generation, body panel interchange is generally good.

Common RZR 900 failure points and replacement parts

Drive belt wear and clutch heat: The 900's 75-88 hp output places significant demands on the PVT belt. Polaris improved the clutch cooling system on the XP 900 with redesigned ducting, but belt wear remains the primary consumable. The 2015+ models received further cooling improvements.

Trailing arm bushing wear: The 3-link trailing arm rear suspension uses bushings that can develop play and squeaking with aggressive off-road use. Bushing replacement restores tight rear-end feel and eliminates noise.

EPS motor and rack (EPS models): Electronic power steering components can develop faults, presenting as intermittent loss of power assist with a dashboard warning light.

Wheel bearing failure: Aggressive cornering and mud/water riding accelerate wheel bearing wear. A growling or humming noise that changes with speed indicates bearing replacement is needed.

Plastic body panel cracking: The RZR's aggressive riding style leads to frequent body panel damage from obstacles, rollovers, and UV degradation.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Are RZR XP 900 and RZR 900 (2015+) parts interchangeable?

Engine internals interchange across all 900 models. However, the XP 900 (64" width) and the 2015+ RZR 900/S 900 (50"/60") use different chassis widths, so body panels, A-arms, doors, and cage components are NOT interchangeable between the XP and non-XP models. Rear suspension trailing arm components may have limited cross-compatibility, but verify by part number.

Q: Will RZR 1000 parts fit my RZR 900?

The RZR 1000 and RZR 900 share the 3-link trailing arm rear suspension concept but differ in chassis dimensions, engine displacement, and many component specifications. Some suspension components and accessories may cross over between 900 and 1000 models of similar width, but engine parts do not interchange. Verify specific part compatibility before ordering.

Q: Can I upgrade my RZR 900 to RZR 1000 power?

The 900 and 1000 use different engine displacements (875cc vs 999cc) with different cylinder dimensions. A direct engine swap is technically possible but requires matching the ECU, wiring, exhaust, and engine mounts. For most owners, the cost of conversion exceeds the price difference between selling the 900 and buying a 1000.
