Used Spark Parts

Sun Coast Cycle Sports carries used OEM parts for the Sea-Doo Spark, the entry-level personal watercraft that disrupted the PWC market when introduced in 2014 at a sub-$5,000 price point. The Spark uses a lightweight Polytec hull and the compact Rotax 900 ACE three-cylinder engine producing 60 horsepower (base) or 90 horsepower (HO and Trixx variants). Available in two-seat and three-seat configurations, the Spark brought personal watercraft ownership within reach of a much broader audience. The playful Spark Trixx variant adds a variable trim system and extended rear platform for freestyle tricks. Every part is inspected, individually cataloged, and ships from our Odessa, Florida facility.

The Spark is a standalone platform within the Sea-Doo lineup. Its Rotax 900 ACE engine (899cc inline-three) does NOT share any components with the larger Rotax 1503 or 1630 engines used in the GTX, RXT, RXP, and GTR. The Spark's Polytec hull is made from injection-molded plastic rather than fiberglass, and its smaller dimensions and construction are completely different from all other Sea-Doo models. No engine, hull, or drivetrain components interchange between the Spark and any other Sea-Doo model.

Within the Spark family, the 2-up and 3-up models share the same engine and most hull components, differing only in hull length and seat capacity. The Spark Trixx has a unique extended rear deck and stepped seat but shares the same engine and most mechanical components with the standard Spark HO. The 60 hp and 90 hp engines share the same block with different ECU calibration.

Common Sea-Doo Spark failure points and replacement parts

Wear ring degradation: The Spark's wear ring can degrade relatively quickly, especially in sandy or shallow water conditions. A worn wear ring causes noticeably reduced acceleration and top speed. Replacement is straightforward and is the most common maintenance item beyond standard service.

Carbon seal: The impeller shaft carbon seal requires periodic inspection and replacement. Water intrusion through a worn carbon seal can eventually damage electrical components in the hull.

Polytec hull damage: The Polytec hull is highly durable and impact-resistant compared to fiberglass, but it cannot be repaired with standard fiberglass techniques if cracked. Replacement hull sections are required for significant damage. Minor scratches and scuffs are cosmetic and do not affect structural integrity.

iBR actuator: On models equipped with the Intelligent Brake and Reverse system, the iBR actuator can develop issues over time. The system requires proper winterization to prevent corrosion damage to the gate mechanism.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Does the Spark share any parts with larger Sea-Doo models

No. The Spark uses a completely different engine (Rotax 900 ACE, 899cc) and hull construction (Polytec) from all other Sea-Doo models. No engine, hull, or drivetrain components interchange between the Spark and the GTX, RXT, RXP, or GTR lines.

Q: What is the difference between Spark 60 hp and 90 hp models

Both use the same Rotax 900 ACE engine block. The 90 hp version (HO) has different ECU calibration that unlocks additional power. Some owners report that the 60 hp ECU can be reflashed to 90 hp specification, though this may affect warranty coverage. Mechanically, the engines are identical.

Q: Can Spark Trixx parts fit a standard Spark

Engine and most mechanical components are shared between the Trixx and standard Spark HO. The Trixx has a unique extended rear deck and stepped seat that are specific to that variant. The VTS (Variable Trim System) from the Trixx can be added to a standard Spark with the appropriate hardware and wiring.
