Used Street Cup Parts

Inspected used parts for the 2017-2018 Triumph Street Cup are stocked at Sun Coast Cycle Sports. The Street Cup was a short-lived cafe racer variant of the Street Twin, combining the 900cc liquid-cooled parallel twin with clip-on-style handlebars, a flyscreen, and a cafe racer tail cowl. Production spanned only two model years before Triumph discontinued the model. Our Florida technicians break down each Street Cup donor, photograph every part under its own SKU, and ship free across the continental United States.

Street Cup generation and parts compatibility

The Street Cup was produced for 2017 and 2018 only, making it one of the rarest models in Triumph's Modern Classics lineup.

The Street Cup shares its entire drivetrain with the 2016-2018 Street Twin and 2017+ Bonneville T100. The 900cc engine, 5-speed gearbox, clutch, and primary drive interchange freely among all 900cc Modern Classics. The frame is also shared with the Street Twin, making chassis components (swingarm, rear suspension mounting points, engine mounts) compatible.

The Street Cup's unique components are its cafe racer ergonomic package: the clip-on-style handlebars (lower and more forward than the Street Twin's flat bars), the flyscreen/bikini fairing, rear seat cowl with integrated grab rail, and the twin brushed stainless steel peashooter exhaust system. These model-specific parts are the hardest to source since production volume was low and the model was short-lived.

Since the Street Cup uses the pre-2019 55hp version of the 900cc engine, it does not benefit from the 2019+ power increase that the Street Twin received. The 2019+ Street Twin cams and intake can be retrofitted with an ECU tune.

Common Street Cup failure points and replacement parts

Regulator/rectifier (early production): Like other 2016-2017 Modern Classics, some Street Cups experienced the R/R overcharge or undercharge issue common to the platform. Replacement with an improved unit resolves the problem.

Clip-on handlebar vibration: The lower handlebar position transmits more engine vibration to the rider's hands than the Street Twin's upright bars. Bar-end weights and vibration-damping grips reduce hand fatigue on longer rides.

Flyscreen mounting hardware loosening: The small flyscreen can develop vibration-related fastener loosening. Periodic inspection and thread-locking compound on the mounting bolts prevent rattling.

Rear seat cowl fitment: The cafe racer tail cowl uses specific mounting points that can develop play or squeak with use. Rubber isolators at the mounting points eliminate noise.

Clutch drag in cold conditions: The same torque-assist clutch drag reported on the Street Twin applies to the Street Cup.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will Street Twin parts fit my Street Cup?

Yes, for the vast majority of components. The engine, gearbox, frame, swingarm, wheels, brakes, electrical system, and most body panels are shared between the Street Cup and 2016-2018 Street Twin. The Street Cup's unique parts are the clip-on handlebars, flyscreen, rear seat cowl, and peashooter exhaust. If you want to convert a Street Cup to Street Twin ergonomics (or vice versa), the handlebar, riser, and controls are a direct swap.

Q: Why was the Street Cup discontinued?

Triumph discontinued the Street Cup after 2018 as the Speed Twin 1200 (launched 2019) filled the performance roadster role more effectively with the larger 1200cc engine. The Street Cup's limited production makes its model-specific parts (flyscreen, seat cowl, peashooter exhaust) harder to source than equivalent Street Twin components. Sun Coast's used parts inventory helps fill this gap for existing Street Cup owners.

Q: Can I install the 2019+ 65hp Street Twin engine upgrade on my Street Cup?

The power increase came from revised cams, intake porting, and ECU calibration. The 2019+ cams can be installed in the Street Cup's 900cc engine, but an ECU retune is required. The simplest upgrade path is a Triumph-approved ECU tune combined with an aftermarket exhaust and high-flow air filter, which achieves comparable gains without opening the engine.
