Used Textron Stampede 900 Parts

Used, inspected Textron Stampede 900 side-by-side parts are available from Sun Coast Cycle Sports out of our Odessa, Florida salvage operation. We strip donor Stampede machines down to individual components, photograph everything, assign each piece its own SKU, and ship free across the continental United States. The Stampede was Textron Off Road's sport-utility UTV produced from 2017 to 2019, powered by a 846cc twin-cylinder EFI engine. Textron discontinued the model and the entire "Textron Off Road" brand name relatively quickly after acquiring Arctic Cat in 2017, leaving Stampede owners with a shrinking dealer network and increasingly difficult OEM parts procurement. Salvage parts from donor machines have become one of the most reliable sourcing channels for keeping these vehicles operational.

Textron Stampede 900 model overview

The Stampede was developed under Textron's ownership of Arctic Cat as a mid-tier sport-utility side-by-side marketed under the "Textron Off Road" brand. Production ran from 2017 through 2019, with variants including the base Stampede, Stampede X, Stampede XTR, and the Stampede 4 (four-seat). The name "900" is a marketing designation; the actual engine displacement is 846cc from a twin-cylinder, DOHC, EFI powerplant. Textron positioned the Stampede between the Arctic Cat Wildcat (sport) and Prowler (utility) lines, but the short production run and brand confusion between Arctic Cat and Textron Off Road limited market adoption.

After Textron phased out the "Textron Off Road" brand and consolidated back to the Arctic Cat name for its off-road vehicles, the Stampede was not continued. The closely related Rustler 850, sold alongside the Stampede in 2018, shares many components including the engine, transmission, and frame. The Havoc was another short-lived Textron Off Road model from the same era. For parts sourcing, all three of these Textron-era UTVs share significant component overlap.

Stampede 9002017-2019846cc twin, DOHC, EFITwo-seat sport-utility configuration. CVT transmission with selectable 2WD/4WD and locking rear differential. Multiple trim levels (base, X, XTR) share the same drivetrain and frame, differing in suspension tuning, wheels, and accessories.
Stampede 42018-2019846cc twin, DOHC, EFIFour-seat extended-wheelbase variant. Shares engine, transmission, and front frame section with the two-seat Stampede. Rear frame extension and rear seat assembly are specific to the Stampede 4.
Rustler 8502018846cc twin, DOHC, EFIUtility-oriented sibling sold under the Textron Off Road brand. Same engine and transmission as the Stampede. Subject to the same CPSC front suspension arm recall. Many chassis and drivetrain components interchange between the Rustler and Stampede.
Havoc / Havoc X2018-2019General Motors 1.0L EcoTec turbo 3-cylinderPerformance UTV using an automotive-derived engine unrelated to the Stampede's 846cc twin. The Havoc shares no engine or transmission components with the Stampede, but some frame, suspension, and body hardware may overlap. Subject to CPSC recalls for fuel line fire hazard (2019 models) and front suspension arm failure (2018-2019 models, 6 reported failures).

Common failure points and frequently replaced components

Stampede / Rustler (2017-2019): CPSC recall (February 2019) covered all 2018 Stampede and Rustler models (VIN 9003240 through 9004062) for lower front suspension arm failure. Four reports of suspension arm fractures were documented prior to the recall. Owners on ArcticChat forums report persistent cabin heat issues caused by engine and exhaust proximity to the firewall, with many owners adding aftermarket heat shielding, Dynamat insulation, and auxiliary fans to the firewall area. Water pump failures are documented on the 846cc twin, as are steering column noise and looseness. Fault code C1023 (gate voltage low) has been reported on early rides, often triggered by moisture ingress into electrical connectors during wet-weather operation.

Dealer and parts availability: Multiple Stampede owners have documented on forums that Arctic Cat/Textron dealers refused to accept Textron-branded vehicles for trade or service after the brand restructuring. Parts availability through dealer channels became severely limited, with some owners reporting three-month waits for components. This makes salvage parts from donor vehicles one of the few reliable procurement channels for Stampede-specific components.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Are Stampede 900 and Rustler 850 parts interchangeable?

Yes, extensively. Both the Stampede and the Rustler 850 use the same 846cc twin-cylinder engine, CVT transmission, and share the same frame platform. Engine, drivetrain, suspension, and many body components interchange between them. Both were also covered by the same CPSC front suspension arm recall.

Q: Why is the Stampede called "900" if the engine is 846cc?

The "900" is a marketing designation used by Textron Off Road to position the vehicle in the competitive UTV market. The actual engine displacement is 846cc. This is common practice in the UTV industry where model names approximate rather than specify exact displacement.

Q: Can I use Havoc parts on my Stampede?

The Havoc uses a completely different engine (General Motors 1.0L EcoTec turbo 3-cylinder) and transmission, so no powertrain components interchange. Some frame hardware, suspension mounting points, and exterior accessories may overlap between the two platforms since both were developed under Textron during the same period, but engine, transmission, and exhaust components are entirely different.

Q: Where can I get Stampede parts serviced if dealers will not work on it?

Many Arctic Cat dealers dropped Textron Off Road products after the brand restructuring, and OEM parts channels have dried up. Independent UTV shops, salvage parts sourcing from donor machines, and online communities like ArcticChat are the most practical options for Stampede owners needing maintenance and repair components.
